Abstract

We discuss the main numerical approaches to partial differential equations,
starting from simple difference schemes to Finite Element and Boundary Element Methods.

Each method will be explained on important examples,
the advantages and weaknesses will be made evident by various test cases.
Finally, a number of applications will be discussed.
