Curriculum vitae

Vito Antonio Cimmelli was born in Sarno, near Napoli, on May 20, 1958. He studied at the University of Napoli where he got, "maxima cum laude", the title of Doctor in Physics. He started his research by studying the problem of modeling phase transitions in continuous media, in collaboration with prof. Antonio Romano, from the University of Napoli. In 1987 he got a permanent position as researcher at the University of Basilicata, Potenza. Actually his reserch is mainly based on thermodynamics and analysis of second sound at low temperatures. In this field he has an international scientific cooperation, especially with Witold Kosinski, from warsaw, and Kurt Frischmuth, from Rostock.
